Fiasco Cocktails is the great neighborhood bar, and everybody's a neighbor! A split level floorplan has a spacious bar, plenty of tables, and dart boards on the upper level. Started in 1871, The Phoenix was the first bar in Texas to servce women. In 1894, German immigrant William Gebhardt sold the first commercial Chili Powder from the back room of the Phoenix. After Prohibition closed the bar in 1918, the building became a department store, which proudly provided a non-racial, non-segregated cold drinking water fountain. In March 2010, The Phoenix came under new management and stands today in downtown New Braunfels as a great establishment for food, music, and refreshments.
